BIOGRAPHY::

Shimmy Boyle is a Bay Area performance poet. His work is like a piano falling from a rooftop. Inspired by cartoons, the wilderness, and the end of the world, he enjoys writing stuff down on paper.

His work is influenced by authors like beat poet Richard Brautigan and contemporary novelist Jeanette Winterson, as well as writers like Cormac McCarthy, Haruki Murakami, and Keith Miller, and musicians Tom Waits, Joanna Newsom, and The Mountain Goats.

February 2010 saw the release of his first full-length book of poems, Recipe For A Mountain. He has also been published in the poetry journals BlazeVox, Blood Orange, and Blood Lotus. An album of live performances is scheduled for release in summer 2010. He will be touring extensively across the United States in the fall of 2010. Dates TBA.

New projects in the works include a one man hobo show, and a book length poem/performance piece entitled Girl City Dream.
